You must have already received a letter from the university with your RPTU account and an initial password, right?

Your first step is to activate your account.

With this account you have access to almost all university services now and later, such as the university computers, your mailbox, print account, Eduroam (WLAN), VPN, and much more (click here for more information).

If you have not yet received an initial password and the e-week is coming up recently, write us an e-mail so that we can inform you, as everything runs via OLAT.

To the RPTU account activation

As you've probably noticed, your RPTU username seems a little cryptic compared to previous students.

We have the RHRZ to thank for this, as they have come up with a new way of automatically generating names. However, the RHRZ has also created a tool with which you can add a non-cryptic alias to your e-mail address.

What does it look like and what is an alias?
For the account "mus55ter@rptu.de", for example, you can create "Max.Mustermann@edu.rptu.de" in addition to other options. This address acts as an additional receiving address that is linked to your mailbox. It can also be set up as a sender address. All aliases (in this case mus55ter@rptu.de and Max.Mustermann@edu.rptu.de) that run to your mailbox receive emails at all times and always work simultaneously, which means that you will receive the mail in your mailbox regardless of the recipient address (if it is an alias of yours).

You should have already received your student ID card with photo and further information about your studies from the university. Your student ID card contains all the important functions you will need at the university:

• Student ID card
• Semester ticket (VRN area)
• Canteen card
• Copy card (also works with any common transponder)
• Library card (still needs to be set up)
• Unisport basic card
