Dear fellow students,

We, your civil engineering student council, would like to draw your attention to a competition called "Blue Compass" organized by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection. The Technical University of Kaiserslautern has been nominated with the project: "Coping with major flooding and heavy rain events - further training of the workforce!".

The 20 nominated projects will initially compete against each other in an online vote for the audience award.

Voting is possible every day until June 8 at www.uba.de/tatenbank.

The Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management, the Department of Urban Water Management and the Kaiserslautern Fire Department are working together and see the nomination as an opportunity to make the topic of coping with major heavy rainfall and flooding events - and thus the work of all emergency services and helpers - more visible.
