Investigation of the room-side heat transfer to building envelope components and development of a calculation method

Within the framework of the research project "Investigation of room-side heat transfer to components of the building envelope and development of a calculation method", a significant gain in knowledge about room-side heat transfer to components of the building envelope is to be achieved. This will make it possible to determine realistic surface temperatures at critical building component points and to carry out calculations with regard to moisture absorption and moisture transport with considerably higher accuracy than before. The development of models as a basis for the practical implementation of the results is another essential goal of the project. The models should enable a simple calculation of the heat transfer resistances also for such typical building situations that are currently not covered with sufficient accuracy by the known flat-rate calculation methods.

The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
