The use of the MFB as a heat storage and transfer system to increase the share of RE in the heat demand has various advantages over other concepts:

  •     No additional loads
  •     No additional demand for material, especially compared to a buffer storage of 3 - 10 m³
  •     No additional space requirement
  •     No restriction of architectural design due to required floor heights and ceiling penetrations
  •     Reduced risk of mould due to active heat input
  •     Increase in thermal comfort
  •     Good combinability with other not fully controllable heat generators

Additional costs for the thermal activation is well below 5% of the total costs and can be compensated due to saved costs of operation.
