With the naming, the department commemorates the outstanding personality Helmut Bode (1940 - 2003), who researched and taught in the field of steel construction at the University of Kaiserslautern from 1980 to 2003 and who also rendered outstanding services to the education of young scientists.
The doctoral college supports the scientific work of the doctoral candidates through structured supervision, integration in project work and the teaching of the necessary technical and methodological skills. In addition, the practice of social and communicative skills is promoted, supported by the offers of the TU-Nachwuchsring.
